Are You Prepared? Preserving a lasting legacy.

Are you wondering where the summer has gone, too?

September is almost here and with it comes the annual National Preparedness Month observance. It’s an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies.

This year’s theme is “A Lasting Legacy.” Organizers with the Ready campaign stress the life you’ve built is worth protecting. They encourage all of us to prep for disasters to help create a lasting legacy for ourselves and our families.

Here are some of their suggestions:

    Make a plan.

    Teach children how to prepare.

Build a disaster supplies kit with everyone in mind, including children, seniors, and pets.

Learn safety skills such as CPR and first aid. Have at least one up-to-date fire extinguisher in your home and make sure your household knows not only where to find it, but also how to use it.

Diesel technology plays a key role in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. Governments and businesses alike rely on a wide range of diesel-powered equipment like dewatering pumps, electrical generators, material handling equipment to aid in disaster response.

Of course, diesel also fuels most emergency response vehicles which help save lives, cope with natural disasters, and restore normalcy.
